Lionsgate Play is a subscription-based video-on-demand (SVOD) platform offering a diverse library of over a thousand hours of content. Utilizing advanced technology, Lionsgate Play partners with major studios like 20th Century Fox, Paramount, and Warner Bros. to deliver a premium viewing experience. The platform provides an ad-free, premium viewing experience accessible on iOS and Android devices, all for an attractive monthly subscription fee.
The rise of digital entertainment and the pandemic's impact on content consumption highlighted the need for a user-friendly OTT platform. The challenge lay in designing a cross-platform application that offered intuitive access to content and maintained a consistent user experience across devices like smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs. But that wasn't all. But user experience wasn't the only battleground - retaining subscribers in a crowded OTT market was equally crucial.
Our Design Visionaries spearheaded a user-centered overhaul of Lionsgate Play, the OTT platform. To address the growing demand for digital entertainment, we implemented UI/UX design features that enhance content discoverability. This includes advanced search functionalities, personalized recommendations based on user behavior, and intuitive content categorization for Lionsgate Play's vast library of Hollywood movies and TV shows. By optimizing the platform for seamless multi-device access, we positioned Lionsgate Play as the go-to destination for premium content.
This project aimed to elevate Lionsgate Play's user experience through a three-pronged approach: a unified app for seamless switching between devices, a personalized recommendation engine suggesting content based on user activity, and ultimately, solidifying Lionsgate Play's position as a leader in convenient and personalized entertainment.
"Fueled by high-speed internet and a surge in mobile devices, the OTT media landscape is booming," observes the industry. A research by Mordor Intelligence projects the OTT market to double by 2026, from $101.42 billion in 2020. This growth is fueled not just by content accessibility, but by providers pivoting to original content creation, innovative pricing models, and personalized curation, making OTT a major player in the entertainment industry.
Lionsgate Play boasts over 1,000 hours of curated content, including Hollywood hits, Bollywood blockbusters, and exclusive Lionsgate Play Originals. Our user interface leverages sophisticated algorithms to analyze viewing habits and personalize recommendations.
